About King City
King City is a city of 5,184 people (2020 census) in Washington County. The Tualatin Development Company began building it in 1964 as a planned community for adults, and the original 273 acres were built out around 1978. The city incorporated in March 1966, and the company used a royalty theme for its street names.
King City originally barred residents under 50. After the 1988 Fair Housing Act amendments the age limit became 55 or older, and the city later expanded to include developments without age restrictions. A strip mall sits on Highway 99W, the city is in the Tigard-Tualatin School District, and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue provides fire and EMS service.
Life in King City and what your body feels
Many King City residents are active, with golf, walking, gardening and travel on the calendar. Stiffness in the low back, hips and shoulders can make those activities less enjoyable.
Dr. Devine uses several techniques, including Diversified, Activator, Drop Table, Torque Release and SOT, so care can be gentle or more traditional depending on your comfort. He explains what he finds, and you decide how to proceed.
Chiropractic care for King City patients
Here are some of the conditions Form & Function Chiropractic sees most often from King City patients. Care is based on an exam, and Dr. Devine will tell you if another type of provider would serve you better.
- Low back pain: Back pain is one of the most common reasons people call us. Dr. Devine looks at the spine, hips and the way you move, then combines adjustments with guidance on posture and activity.
- Sciatica: Pain, tingling or numbness that travels from the low back or hip down the leg can have several causes. An exam helps us understand what is driving it.
- Shoulder pain: Shoulder trouble can start in the neck, upper back or the joint itself. We assess the whole chain so care addresses the source.
- Neck pain: Stiff, sore necks often come from desk work, driving or sleeping awkwardly. We look for the joints and muscles involved and build a plan to restore comfortable motion.
- Foot pain: Foot and heel pain can change how you walk and strain the knees, hips and back. We look at how your feet and the rest of your body work together.
We also provide car accident care, sports injury care, prenatal care, pediatric care, laser therapy and wellness care. See all services and conditions.
What your first visit looks like
Your first visit with Dr. Devine starts with a conversation about your health history, what brought you in and what you want to get back to doing. He then performs an exam, explains what he finds in plain language, and recommends a care plan. X-rays are used only when they are clinically warranted.
Dr. Devine has practiced for more than 25 years and trained at Palmer West Chiropractic College. Co-owner Jodi Black is a nutrition coach, and the clinic also offers Erchonia laser therapy and rehab and physiotherapy options for patients who need extra support.
